Professional Practice – II (PP-II) offered to the students of B.Tech. program is conducted for a duration of more than three months during either of the semesters of the final year B.Tech. program. It focuses on real-time problem solving in the professional environment and is graded for 15 credits.
Aim of PP-II is to make the about-to-graduate students to experience the professional world by working on real-time projects and also to hone their skillsets such as problem solving skills, team-work, interpersonal communication etc. to suit the real-life job requirements and become employable.
Methodology is very similar to Professional Practice-I. But all aspects are scaled up to match the increased academic maturity of the students.
Orientation comprising of plant visits, and interactions with industry experts is conducted for initial few days. Orientation is followed by taking up a project that provides experiential learning and opportunity to apply various tools and techniques of engineering and management. Primarily, it focuses on systematic problem solving and includes defining the problem, data collection, analysis, idea generation and reporting.
Evaluation components such as diary quiz, group discussion, seminar and report supports and augment the learning process.
Similar to the PP-I, process of PP-II is also coordinated, monitored and evaluated by the professional practice faculty on day-to-day basis in consultation with the concerned industry experts and the Centre for Placement & Internships of the university.
